Carol Stream superabrasives plant passes WCM audit

The Saint-Gobain Abrasive plant in Carol Stream, Illinois, has passed the audit in their journey to attain World Class Management “Bronze” certification—which the facility hopes to have later this year.

World class manufacturing is a collection of concepts, which set standards for production and manufacturing.  WCM was introduced in the automobile, electronic and steel industry.  It’s a process-driven approach where various techniques and philosophies are used to streamline and enhance production processes.

“Our success in the audit process was due to a combination for strong management and passionate engagement of our employees,” says Erica Lavine, WCM coordinator.

The 100-employee Carol Stream facility manufactures superabrasives products used in the aerospace, automotive, construction and electronics industries.
